Application for Humans: Repetitive thoughts
Application for Animals: Obsessive behaviour
We often go into a never-ending cycle of repetitive, unpleasant thoughts and arguments in our own mind. We replay an incident innumerable times, unable to let go of an issue.
In animals, we often see obsessive compulsive disorders. Examples in dogs include Aacral Lick Dermatitis (ALD), self-mutilation, fence running, flank sucking, and excessive licking of objects. In cats it includes excessive grooming, hyperesthesia, and tail-chasing.
